Dr. Baron Has Integral Role in Training New Doctors in Academic Dermatology

Throughout her dermatology career, Dr. Baron has given many lectures to other physicians, surgeons, nurses and students.  She has also presented her Mohs fellowship research work on scar prevention to her peers at the national conference level.  Now, she brings her educational contributions closer to home as she has been selected by the O'Connor Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, affiliated with Stanford University, to provide one-to-one dermatology education for new physicians.  As always, her teaching time is completely on a volunteer basis since Dr. Baron believes in the goodwill of teaching and is grateful to her own teachers over the years.

Dr. Baron is an accomplished Mohs surgeon. She trained under the American College of Mohs Surgery fellowship program, and now conducts several Mohs surgeries each week. Mohs surgery is a method for removing tumors with minimal loss of healthy skin while having the least chance of tumor recurrence. She makes sure the patient is satifised both cosmetically and medically with the result and her desire to put the patient first ensures each patient sees the right specialist for the best possible outcome.

Mohs micrographic surgery is a stepwise process for removing a tumor. The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) has a detailed description of the process on their website.  The ACMS has also created an educational video about Mohs--take a look!
